Stephanie Smith, famous for her amazing body, infectious smile and down-to-earth nature we cannot get enough of this bronzed babe! With an online cook book, Keep It Clean, an in-demand modelling career flying to jobs all over the world and a social following rapidly growing it is remarkable how much Steph has achieved in almost four years of modelling.
How did you get into modeling?
I did it for a few years as a kid, then once high school finished and I didn't know what I wanted to study, I decided to give it a go.
What has been your favourite job so far?
One of my favourite jobs so far has been for the BOND’s 'boobs' campaign, purely because it landed me on giant billboards all over town haha. But other gigs like my shoot with Roxy in Hawaii or my shoot with Cleo X Billabong off Hamilton island have been incredible too because of the amazing locations.
What do you love most about modeling?
I think what I love most about it is that I'm working with different people and at different locations everyday, it's so refreshing.
What would be your dream job?
Probably working with Sports illustrated for their swim edition to be honest. They go to the most incredible locations for their shoots; I think it would be amazing!
How have amassed a pretty massive Instagram following – how does that effect your work?
Yeah it's crazy big! I never expected it to grow as much as it has. I suppose it has been great for work because I'm not needed at as many castings because my Instagram reflects my personality and my all over look pretty spot on. It's also helped with getting my name out there internationally. But I was lucky to be working quite regularly before Instagram so it definitely wasn't what got me all my jobs, but it obviously has helped.
I’ve been with you a couple of times when you have been recognized by girls on the street – what does that feel like for you?
Haha yeh it's bloody weird. I don't consider myself famous, don't think I ever will, but I do get approached quite a lot and I find it pretty amazing. When it's younger girls who are freaking out or just telling me I'm their inspiration I love that... Because all I'm trying to be is a kind of relatable role model.
You have you’re cookbook, Keep It Clean, how is this going and any plans for another book?
Yeah! It's gone so well. Laura and I are in the middle of creating our second one now, loving it. It was great to be working on something outside of modeling, and health and wellbeing is something I'm very passionate about and a lot of girls always asked me what I ate so it seemed like the perfect fit.
If you could do a shoot anywhere, with any international photographer for any brand what would it be?
Probably in the Bahamas with Russell James for Victoria's Secret or something like that haha. He's incredible, and looks like so much fun to work with.
If you weren’t modeling what would you be doing?
I'd love to own my own cafe! Or be on play school hahahhahahahaha
How do you stay in shape?
By a balanced diet and regular exercise! Long walks, pilates and 2-3 HIIT sessions in a week. But it can be difficult to stay on top of this routine when I'm traveling a lot for work, I just do what I can when I can.
Anything core related, Pilates based movements.
Secret cheat food?
Hot chips, cheese and crackers or chocolate...
Where would someone find you on a Friday night?
Probably out for dinner with Josh.
Talk us through your beauty regime…
I make sure I always go to bed with a washed face and either some moisturizer or even a rose hip oil or coconut oil on my skin. But really I keep it quite simple. I find the more products I use my skin freaks out, so I keep it minimal and simple.
Finish this sentence.
I can’t live without… fruit!
I can’t stop listening to… Chris Brown’s new song Zero.
My favourite person in the world is… Josh.
I will never forget… my nana.
Summer is all about… getting a tan and chillaxing.
